Located in Krkonoše Mountains, Špindlerův Mlýn is the 2nd nearest ski resort to Berlin. It’s similar to Klínovec / Fichtelberg, but reachable only by car, 4+ hour drive. The local food and its abundance are worth special notice!

The resort offers prepared slopes only, but you can find some off-piste runs in the forest (see the Powderline.cz post on freeriding there).
Usual season opening: mid-December.
If you drive there after a heavy snowfall, you may need snow chains to access certain parts of Spindleruv Mlyn. Also, the parking spaces at the ski lifts are limited, so better arrive before 9 am or use a local taxi/ski buses.
