Sofia, Bulgaria

Did you know that you could also shred in Bulgaria? The slopes there may be less groomed than in the Alps, but you get to see some local culture!

Ski resorts

  • Bansko is one of the newest Bulgarian ski resorts. They say it’s also the most crowded, but we were lucky in February 2018. Also, the place has some off-piste potential!
    Check out our video here.
  • Borovets and Pamporovo we know nothing about yet.

  • Ski pass: 30eur
  • Hotel: room for two from 25eur per night

Getting there

Direct flight from Berlin to Sofia: from ... return.

From the airport to the mountains, probably the best option is booking a transfer. There are plenty of options starting from ~20 EUR per person.

If you’re comfortable with the Cyrillic alphabet and like some extra flexibility in getting around, we recommend renting a car. The roads around Sofia are quite decent.

More info

  • Best month for powder is March as mentioned by a local guide.
